In March of 2014 the Port Authority completed a sale of the Youngstown & Southern Railroad, a 36 mile short line between Youngstown and Darlington Pa, to Mule Sidetracks LLC, an affiliate of Mark West Corporation.

This morning congressman Bill Johnson toured the Wellsville Inter Modal facility. This is where Hilcorp has leased 22 acres from the Columbiana County Port Authority under it's subsidiary Arrowhead Utica pipeline. The company plans to build a multi-million dollar gas transfer plant.

Activity is steadily increasing at the Wellsville Intermodal facility. Flat bed trucks arrived to collect 30 ton coils of steal unloaded from river barge to be hauled to fabricators in Mahoning and Trumbel counties.  Watch the Business Journals interview with Larry Heck the owner and president of Pier 48, the operators of the Intermodal facility and Randy Allmon of the Wellsville Chamber of Commerce.
